Obesity is a condition that is becoming an epidemic in the United States. This condition creates many health problems; some of them can be life-threatening. Nowadays, people are being encouraged to try different ways to lose weight. Dieting has been the general practice for most people who want to lose weight but it is not always the recommendation of physicians. Here are 4 important ways to help you lose the weight without dieting.

Regular Exercise

Regular exercise has many benefits besides weight control. Endorphins are released in the body by the central nervous system and the pituitary gland which act with the receptors in the brain. These endorphins relieve depression, elevate mood, and reduces the perception of pain. Exercise also helps you get in shape. There is no need to join a gym – brisk walking or gentle running for 20 minutes, 5 times a week is sufficient.

Eat green vegetables

Green vegetables are not only good for the health, but these vegetables will help you to lose weight. That's because leafy vegetables are loaded with fiber, vitamins, minerals that may help protect you from heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer. Increase the amount of these vegetables in your diet: kale, spinach greens, broccoli, cabbage, cucumber, and iceberg or romaine lettuce. 

Eat the right foods

Cut back on starches and sugars. These foods increase the production of insulin, which is the main fat storage hormone in the body. Increase the amount of protein, fat, and vegetables in your diet. These foods boost the metabolism and reduce the desire for late-night snacks. Learn to be a slow eater.

Drink water

Twenty minutes before every meal, drink 8 oz. of water. This acts as an appetite suppressor. Also drink water throughout your meal. This aids digestion and breaks down foods so that the body will more easily absorb nutrients. Keep water near you during the day.
